World wide sensor market

Sony grabbed the fruitful results in the sensor world, where Sony outsell almost every other manufacturers and conquered the front place in selling maximum sensors. This news brought into light by Tokyo research firm that previous year(2014) Sony sold out 40% of all image sensors that is 5% more than 2013. Omnivision and Samsung both are not too far in the race and secured 16% and 15% respectively.Approx $8.65 billion has been collected last year by selling image sensors which is 80% more than since 2009.

The analyst at Techno Systems Research Co.Hideaki Miwa says:“Unlike memory chips, making image sensors requires craftsmanship, and that’s not something competitors can copy in the short term,”

Satoru Oyama, a semiconductor analyst at research firmIHS Inc., says Apple likely would consider buying image sensors for iPhones elsewhere if another company could match Sony’s quality and price.”
