Sony A9 Specifications rumor

sonyA9Recently we published rumored information that Sony A9 will sport 150MP sensor and now an unknown source revealed that the upcoming Sony A9 will sport a sensor of 70-80 Mpixel, Better IBIS, Better HDR and 3D depth of sensor.

As stated:-

From the small snippets I have gleaned:

Sensor around 70-80 Mpixel.

Better IBIS

They are going to sort out this buffer overflow issue

Better HDR  whatever that means.

More “3D depth of sensor” I think they may be looking at some form of advanced “stacked sensor”

Since, we have no reason to trust on the specifications shared by any anonymous body. Hence take it with a grain of salt.

If we recall the last post which was based on the rumored information via the reliable source sonyalpharumors:-

“The next generation flagship mirrorless camera from Sony will be a giant leap. It will drop a huge bomb in the imaging industry. It will not be A7III or A7RIII. It will be a new model above A7 series. I would say A9 (let’s name it as the new model). So the new A9 will have dual XQD card slot, no CFast version, only XQD. A9 can do UNLIMITED RAW burst, UNLIMITED. The camera wont pause for buffering.”

So it is quite common to have trust on a reputed source compare to unknown source. But overall all the information are totally based on rumors and not released from the Sony camp so we can’t take it as confirmed.

However if we add up all the rumored specifications of Sony A9 till date, we have:

  • It will have either 150MP sensor with 2.4µm pixels or 70-80 Mpixel.
  • Dual XQD card slot
  • no CFast version
  • Unlimited Raw burst
  • Better HDR
  • 6K+ Video recording

Since we have to wait for few more days and see when Sony will break its silent on Sony A9.There is expectation that the camera Sony A9 will be announced at Photokina event.
