Sony A9 falls short behind Sony A7R II and Canon 1DX Mark II in Dynamic Range

Last time we showed you how Sony A9 scored maximum grades in ISO test when compared to Nikon D5 and Canon 1DX Mark II (according to Focusnumerique). Now we will show you the performance of A9 in terms of Dynamic range.

Take aa look at the details below

Look at the image above you can see that Sony A9 only outperformed Nikon D5, but its result is comparatively poor than that of Canon 1DX Mark II and Sony A7R II. According to DPreview, in the beginning means at +1EV, barely any difference is visible, but as the exposures increases differences are easily noticeable and at +6EV, only A7R ii got slightly saved whereas Nikon D5 looks worst. Sony A9, however, manages to score more on D5, but slightly falls behind 1DX Mark II and A7R II.

Dpreview says

1D X II fares the best amongst the current high-end sports cameras due its lack of patterned noise in the shadows
