1. Design Comparison

Sony look smart, yes in first look the compact and stylish design of Sony is more comfortable for a long-run. One of the biggest advantage of Canon 6D Mark II over the Sony A7III is its variangle LCD display screen that helps a lot and literally gives your more computational freedom compared to Sony A7 III.

camera comparsion

Sony A7 III Missing top LCD Display, however its actually top LCD display doesn’t matter to me because I don’t have habit to look at regularly. I know few of my friends a long time pro DSLR users do have a habit of using Top LCD display screen all the time and of a model doesn’t have top LCD they don’t buy it. So, it actually depends on your personal taste.

2. Sensor

Both camera do have a full frame sensor inside it but the technology used inside the senor us different.

The Canon 6D Mark II camera features both resolution and low-light performance, the 6D Mark II uses a newly developed 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor. But the Sony A7 III camera resolution is limited to 24 MP, so resolution wise yes the Canon 6D mark II is giving you more.

The ISO performance of the Canon 6D Mark II camera starts from ISO 100-40000, which can then be expanded to ISO 50-102400, if desired. The Sony A7 III arrived with dramatically improves data transmission speed while using the LSI circuit with the Sensor. The Sony A7 III native sensitivity range from ISO 100-51200, which can be further expanded to ISO 50-204800.

Due to the use of BSI tech the Sony A7 III is able to achieve better ISO range and more dynamic range compared to the Canon 6D Mark II. The dynamic of Sony A7 III is upto 14 stops which is better then of Canon 6D Mark II.

3. AF System

Take a look at the AF screen coverage of both the camera. with the help of 693 AF points you are getting almost all the area under coverage.

Sony A7 III features Sony owns 4D FOCUS system with 693 phase-detection points, which cover approximately 93% of the frame, and not only that you also get 425 contrast-detection areas for reliable and quick autofocus and subject tracking performance.

The Autofocus tracking of Sony A7 III is amazing and if you are a sports shooter you must go with the Sony A7 III.

Before we begin to talsk about the Canon 6D Mark II AF system, we all know that Canon DSLRs uses two different type of AF system and the sensor based Dual Pixel CMOS AF system is super fast and accurate. So, if you are talking about quick AF OR on-spot. The DPAF AF systems have cleat advantage over the Hybrid ones.

Both camera features excellent AF system, but Sony A7 III AF is more advance with eye tacking feature that never allow you to miss AF on subject face.
