Phototkina will be held annually instead of every other year, starting 2018

Rejoices might be in the face of every photography lover since Photokina – One of the world’s largest photography and imaging event now announced that the event will be held every year instead of every other year and that is starting in 2018. Yes if you remember, then the next Photokina show will be held next year (2018). Actually, they took these major changes to “optimally reflect the fast-paced nature and the ever briefer innovation cycles of an increasingly digitalized industry.” Since there are so many big announcements take place every year and those announcements miss that show for being held every other year. If Photokina event comes annually then most probably we would get to see many innovations every year.

According to us the next Photokina show might have already been booked by Panasonic for its next big announcement that is Panasonic GH6 (Only our speculation!). In 2016, at last Photokina show, Panasonic GH5 was announced.

Photokina will take place annually as of 2018. It will in future thus optimally reflect the fast-paced nature and the ever briefer innovation cycles of an increasingly digitalised industry. As of 2019 the trade fair will also have a new date in May. In addition to innovations from the core areas of the imaging workflow, the entire range of products, applications and services of relevance
for imaging shall in future be presented in Cologne. With these changes, the transformation process begun in 2016 shall be consistently continued: under the umbrella of “Imaging Unlimited”, photokina last year inspired both exhibitors and
visitors and accessed new target groups for the industry.
