Sharpness– Nikon 18-140mm is the excellent performer of almost all focal lengths that Sigma 18-250mm might not give you. At the wide end, both the two lenses give optimal results by providing excellency in the image quality, however, Sigma 18-250mm leaves much blur while setting at telephoto end compared to its competitor Nikon 18-140mm.

AF performance– Here also, Nikon 18-140mm pushes Sigma 18-250mm away since the AF performance of Nikon is much faster and quieter than its contender Sigma 18-250. On the side, we can also expect quick AF performance by Sigma since it uses HSM technology, which is specifically designed for fast and quiet autofocusing results.

Chromatic aberration– Both lenses are capable to handle chromatic aberration issue, but somewhere Sigma 18-250mm may give you something unexpected results in CA at some focal lengths aberration is very negligible.
