Despite of having the Highest Optical zoom camera (Nikon P900) the users still have big expectations from Nikon to announce a Megazoom camera this year. Since the current Nikon P900 is getting three years old ( announced way back in March, 2015) but this camera is in the comfort zone since no competitor it has with the zoom range provided by it.
Earlier, means beginning from the 2016 there have been innumerable rumors and patents related to the successor of Nikon P900, circulating on the web. Some rumors really have given us proper information, but few are just trash that at points looked reliable but eventually thrown way unused.
Until now, the rumors that we read in the past few months seemed weighty and reliable and the rumor that really earned points is “The next Nikon Megazoom Camera might feature 125X Optical zoom“.
Meanwhile, the biggest disappointment is that we see Canon shows no interest in megazoom camera and its Canon SX60 HS the last zoom camera with 65X Optical zoom!
Goes with the last rumor – It is told that Nikon has one new model that would have Optical zoom of 125X or 24-3000mm equivalent lens. You should know that P900 has still been Top zoom camera with 83X.
Nikon P1000 should be its accurate and relevant Moniker and from the very beginning we have been using this name while introducing the next Nikon Megazoom camera.
About its specifications we have no specific information but we would love to see it doing 4K. There might be little improvement on resolution and in some other specifications as well.
Let’s wait and watch if Nikon revised the roadmap for 2018 and add the camera to the list in case they missed to add it.
The way Nikon skipped 2017 really let us overthink if it is really ready to fulfill the users’ demand or overlook it again?
