HTC 10 launched – the first smartphone sports OIS in front and rear cameras

htc10The Taiwanse smartphone manufacturer launched its latest flagship HTC 10. It is the successor of the HTC One M9, which was launched in March, 2015.

Since, it is the “the world’s first optically stabilized, larger aperture f/1.8 lenses” on both the front and rear cameras. The camera also offers unique features like RAW support, 4K video recording with Hi-Res Audio, Pro Mode, 12x slow motion mode.

The device sports a 12MP UltraPixel rear camera with 1.55µm large pixel size along with laser autofocus, OIS, dual-LED flash also its sensor is combined with a fast F1.8 aperture and an optical image stabilization system also its contrast detect AF System is backed by laser which helps to measure the distance to the subject. On the other hand its front-facing camera of 5MP comes with the large pixels of 1.34µm and also it is the first smartphone which features optical image stabilization on its front-facing camera. Due to the F1.8 aperture, the users can capture magnificent selfies in low-light conditions.
The device HTC 10 has metallic unibody which sports 2K Super LCD 5 display of 5.2”, a pixel density of 564ppi, it has dual edge Gorilla Glass for the protection of display. It supports dual SIM dual standby and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow based HTC Sense 8.0 UI. It also includes a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button for security purpose.

Also the device HTC 10 comes with “the world’s first stereo 24-bit Hi-Res audio recording, capturing 256 times more detail than standard records, across twice the frequency range.”It has BoomSound speaker which works as a two-way speaker – tweeter (high frequencies) and woofer (low frequencies). Each speaker has its own amplifier.

Connectivity wise, it offers 4G-LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB Type-C port. It is powered by a battery of 3000mAh supported by Quick Charging technology which helps to charge 50% in 30 minutes.

The pre-order of the device is going on and the shipment will be started on 12th May, 2016.

The users will get the device in different versions including Carbon Grey, Glacier Silver, Topaz Gold, Camellia Red Glacier Silver, Topaz Gold and Camellia Red color at the cost of $699 in the US and the company hasn’t declared its cost for global markets yet.
