Specifications differences

Sensor size– Finding difference in their image quality will be a challenging task for even the professional photographers, since both incorporates medium format sensor (44x 33mm) along with X1D and Pentax 645z employ 50mp and 51.4mp resolution, allowing the users to capture the stunning images with exceptional clarity. One of the massive benefits for the X1D users is that the camera is compact and lightweight that the photographers can comfortably hold in their hands while shooting unlike the heavy Pentax 645z. Interestingly, the photographers of both cameras can make their clients happy (who don’t like to compromise on the image quality) with the images.

AF system- The work of contrast detect sensor is to focus the desire subjects accurately and you can see that Hasselblad as well as Pentax both uses contrast detect AF system. But, unfortunately, Hasselblad doesn’t mention the AF numbers in their camera, whereas Pentax uses 27 AF systems (11 phase-matching AF module with 27 sensor points including 25 cross-type sensors) makes the camera capable of tracking the subjects quickly and precisely.

ISO– For brilliant lowlight photography a camera should have high ISO range, because shooting in negligible lighting conditions is a daunting task for the photographers. Now look at the ISO range of Pentax 645z, which is upto 204800, higher than X1D camera (25600) means photographers can able to achieve noise free images from Pentax 645Z.

Shutter speed- To easily capture the fast moving subjects we recommend Pentax 645Z, since the camera has faster shutter speed of 1/4000 secs. On the other hand, X1D offers slower shutter speed of 1/2000sec than 645z.

Continuous shooting speed– The 645Z continuously records approx 10 images in the RAW format or upto 30 images in the JPEG at a maximum speed of approximately three images per second, while the continuous drive function of X1D is 2.3fps.

Video– Though, the users can record full HD video from X1D, 645z as well, but the other benefits of Pentax 645Z is that the camera provides interval video recording of 4K-resolution images (3840 x 2160 pixels; in Motion JPEG or AVI video format).

Display– Pentax 645z integrates 3.2-inch high-resolution LCD monitor with approximately 1,037,000 dots has a tilt design making it easier for the photographer to comfortably capture low and high-angle images.

Battery- A photographer can take approx 650 shots at a single battery charge, which will be more than X1D, however, Hasselblad don’t mention the number of shots can be taken at a time.

Verdict- The only issue a photographer might have about the Pentax 645z is its heavier weight, afterall the camera is just awesome, such as its image processor i.e. Prime III even the camera also offers you expandable ISO range of 204800 and the faster shutter speed too. But, comparison to Pentax 645z the hasselblad X1D is looking a bit weak, so we recommend Pentax 645z that can satisfy the demands of professional photographers in dramatic way.
