Sensor- Fujifilm X70 uses APS-C X-Trans CMOS II Sensor to produce more than ordinary images, since the X70 carries the bigger sensor, you will get more dynamic range, better lowlight performance and true color output without banding noise even at higher ISO . But you can see from the table that Sony does have good resolution of 20mp whereas X70 has 16mp only, but its sensor size is smaller1″ (13.2 x 8.8 mm) in compared to X70. So we can expect stunning images from X70 and bit more resolution from RX 100 IV.

Low pass filter- Due to the X-trans architecture the sensor doesn’t need any low pass filter and hence you get super sharp images even when viewed at 100%. But we don’t have any any information about Rx 100 IV, but the official press release doesn’t say the camera does have thew low pass filter or not

Image stabilization- An optical image stabilizer mechanism engineered into the Sony RX100 IV that helps in minimizing the effect of camera shake. On the other hand the x70 doesn’t have the image stabilization technology.

AF system- We can say the AF system of X70 is Just excellent because within the AF system a 49-point Single Point mode for fast, accurate focusing, wide /Tracking modes with a 77-point area to capture fast moving subjects. And now look at the AF system of Sony RX100 IV based on contrast detect sensor with only 25 AF points.

ISO- Your lowlight shooting will be easily cleared with expandable ISO range of 51200 of X70 on the other hand the RX 100 IV offers expandable ISO range of 25600.

Continuous shooting speed- Continuous speed at up to 16 fps on the RX100 IV enables to capture the fast moving subjects exceptionally well. On the other hand the X70 offers only 8fps of continuous shooting speed.

Video- The users of Sony RX100 IV can get the advantages of 4 K (QFHD 3840×2160) movies recording whereas the Video recording capability is limited to only full HD in X70.

Shots- Maximum number of 330 shots can easily be captured with X70 whereas only 280 shots can be taken with Sony RX 100 IV.

Verdict- The X70 will sure give you more dynamic range and better lowlight performance but the photographers may feel suffocated while using the fixed lens of the camera and the other downside of the camera it doesn’t have 4k. But you can get to record 4K video in Sony RX 100IV as well as get the facility of 2.9x zoom to get the close view of the distance subjects.
