Fuji X-T20 vs. Fuji X-T10

Fuji X-T20 vs Fuji X-T10

Fuji X-T10 already established its position in the imaging world, but now the time is for newly announced Fuji X-T20 interchangeable lens camera to create a landmark through ground breaking performance. However, most of the major specifications of X-T20 were borrowed by Fuji X-T2 like its AF system and resolution. It offers you creative 325 AF points, whereas X-T10 has 77 AF points. Though, both the two have same sensor sizes (APS-C), but X-T20 making its way since it features 24 MP resolution, ensuring you best Dynamic range along with sharp and crystal clear images.

Let’s give a look to the detailed comparison between Fuji X-T20 and X-T10…

Image quality

As we discussed above that both the two cameras builds on same APS-C sized sensor, but however, 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III sensor of X-T20 works together with X-Processor Pro image processing engine to deliver you tack sharp images with extraordinary details. Plus it employs high resolution of 24 MP which is considerably better for producing notable Dynamic range while shooting. On the other side, X-T10 offers you 16 MP effective pixels that might give you sharp images, but its dynamic range and lowlight performance is not upto the standard.

AF system

Though, both the siblings carries hybrid AF system, but the AF system of X-T20 is much improved and updated than X-T10. Compared to the X-T10, the AF system of X-T20 has redesigned AF algorithm that lets the X-T20 to achieve more accurately on points of light, low-contrast objects and subjects with fine details. To enable faster and more accurate autofocusing, read speed of the Contrast AF system has been doubled compared to the previous model. On the other hand, the AF points of X-T20 has also been expanded from 77 (X-T10) to 325 AF points and from 49 in the previous model to 91 (Phase detection AF points), covering approximately 40% of the imaging area to achieve fast and precise phase detection AF area.

The new X-T20 must attract the cinema enthusiasts since it allows to record 4K video @30fps (3840 x 2160p) – truly amazing! On the other side, its own sister camera X-T10 keeps limited to Full HD @60fps only. 4K video capability is one of the major reasons … Fuji X-T20 is going to be the camera for the cinematographers too.

Not big difference, but still Fuji X-T20 keeps it point in its side by offering 350 shots at a time, whereas X-T10 is still lagging behind by offering 340 shots only at a time.

Thankfully, Fuji X-T20, however, comes with upgrade specifications that beats its own predecessor but somewhere it retains a lot specifications that are closely resembling to X-T10, such as its shutter speed, bursts rate, ISO etc. But 4K video capability of X-T20, making us desperate to get this camera on the listed price. However, the AF system of X-T20 is also upgraded over X-T10
