Canon has no 50MM lens to announce in 2017

EF-50mm-lensIt looks like Canon have bunch of lenses ready to be announced in 2017 (see here), which will begin with EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. A couple of days ago we told you that Canon EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM lens is also in the queue along with EF 135mm f/2L II (prototype exist internally at Canon), but a new rumor recently popped up online suggests that Canon has no new 50mm lens to be announced for 2017. Canon users who have been in the waiting for longer time need to extend their wait for little extra time since rumor says no 50 f/1.4 or a new 50 f/1.2L lens is coming in 2017. However, Canon is developing new 50L and working with different apertures.

The other interesting news about 50mm lens is that Canon is testing an f/1.0 design, which would be quite the followup to the original “classic”, but no patents have been displayed yet.
