Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III Zoom lens is expected to be announced in 2017

canon-ef-70-200mm-f-2-8l-is-ii-usmCanon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens is probably one of the best zoom from Canon in current time. Its remarkable performance won the hearts of many professional photographers, but the lens has been in the stock for more than six years since it was announced back in 2010. Now, a new rumor was recently pasted online suggests that its successor, which means Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III is expected to be announced in 2017. The previous lens weighs around (1.49 kg), but the good news is that its successor will be lighter than older lens. We also can see a new IS system and optical upgrades as well, plus the lens aperture could be a new f/4 or a new f/2.8.

  • This is going to be a tough one to beat. The current lens is almost perfect for what it does. Certainly lighter weight would be good. Faster AF would be nice, particularly with a tele-extender, but in reality, it’s already pretty quick. The lens has some scattered chromatic aberrations around the fringe, however they are small and not normally a part of a finished photo using this lens. While these would all be good things, the money would be better spent leaving the quality where it is and trying to get a larger aperature. I’d be in heaven if they could get f/1.4 or f/1.8 out of a zoom in this range.
