Canon 800D/T7i Vs. Canon 7D Mark II

Canon T7i vs Canon 7D Mark II

Though both have the indigenous AF system “Dual Pixel CMOS AF system”, but still 7D Mark ii is ahead in the race because there are some additional features are incorporated inside the core of 7D Mark II that ultimately drives out the camera to a solid position. Let’s talk in details about these two cameras, Canon T7i and Canon 7D Mark II.

Image quality

We might not see any big difference in the image quality since both the two cameras are built on APS-C sized sensor, but we must give one or two extra rating to Canon 800D because of its maximum effective pixels (24MP). After all, both the two cameras can snap beautiful images with stunning details.

AF system

We must say thanks to Canon for offering the world’s widest AF coverage that is DPAF (Dual Pixel AF) in affordable camera like Canon 800D. This remarkable AF system was first introduced in Canon 70D and by then the trend continues. Dual Pixel AF system – A very innovative AF technology that allows both capture video in Live View with smooth and precise autofocus. Not only this, this game-changing AF technology provides fast and accurate autofocus during Live View still image capture. Actually, CMOS sensor on both Canon 800D and 7D Mark II has two photodiodes per pixel (Total 40 million) and each pixel on the sensor performs both phase-difference detection autofocus and capture light. On the other hand, Phase-difference detection AF, enabling the cameras to achieve quick and easy auto focus. Furthermore, due this innovative AF system the camera gets autofocus on approx 80% of the image plane that eventually confirms you get images with stunning details.

Why 7D Mark II is getting the upper hand? Because Canon 7D Mark II features 65-all cross type AF system that allows the camera for precise shooting. Moreover, lowlight shooting will also be easily done with the camera having maximum cross type AF points. On the other hand, Canon 800D has only 45 AF points.

Shutter speed

Having faster shutter speed of 1/8000 sec, Canon 7D Mark II ensures us that it will actively suppresses the appearance of distortion and give you crisp images. Moreover, it also incredibly minimizes the “rolling shutter” effect while shooting fast moving subjects and followed by one other great advantage that this fast shutter speed also allows the camera to capture sharp, crystal clear images with a wide open aperture while shooting at bright light conditions. On the other hand. Canon 800D avails the faster shutter speed of 1/4000 s only.

Continuous shooting speed

The EOS 7D Mark II can shoot up to 10 frames per second that seem sufficient to capture all the action occurring at the given time. Moreover, Canon 7D Mark II incorporates an advanced mirror vibration control technology that remarkably helps the camera to support its speedy, continuous shooting capabilities without losing the image quality. On the other hand, compared to 7D II you will have 6fps only in 80D.

You can take around 670 shots at a time with Canon 7D Mark II, whereas Canon 800D allows you take 600 shots only at a time.

Weather sealed

The chassis of 7D Mark II is built of lightweight and rigid magnesium, and the camera’s seals are built to resist water and dust, making it the every time usable camera without worrying at the bad mood of Weather. But unfortunately, Canon 800d is not weather sealed body.

Frankly speaking, at an attainable price you are getting the best AF system camera, Canon 800D and the camera that can snap high quality of images as well. But 7D Mark II is an indigenous camera that gives you much more than you expect. Best AF system, faster shutter speed, continuous shooting speed and many more.
