Canon 77D Vs. Nikon D5600

Canon 77D vs. Nikon D5600

It looks like canon has sliced their popular, Canon 80D, and re-defined it in new way in the form of Canon 77D, which is proving itself to be the real shadow of 80D (?) Because Canon 77D borrowed AF system, image sensor and a few more specifications from its one gentle family member, 80D. However, it has hired some of the best specifications but sitting on the other side…Nikon D5600 also incorporates some of the class features that arguably chasing down Canon 77D to some extent. You will be much more cleared when you go for detailed comparison

Image quality

If Nikon D5600 gives you sharp and stunning quality of images then Canon 77D will also give you almost same since both these two incorporate same sized sensor and number of effective pixels are also same.

AF system

Canon 77D is loudly saying “I am the best” and we say of course you are! Interestingly, Canon 77D has got no possible competitor in its range that uses very innovative Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast and smooth AF during Live View and movie shooting, plus this advanced technology also helps getting stellar AF and tracking, even when the situation of shooting is challenging. In Dual Pixel CMOS AF effective pixels are able to perform both imaging and phase-detection focus measurement simultaneously. As a result, we will see a very creative and dramatic AF performance for both video and Live View still imaging modes. On the other hand, 45-point, all cross-type AF system excels in precise focusing and also allowing the users getting best lowlight shooting etc. Unfortunately, Nikon D5600 doesn’t bear such an exclusive AF system as of Canon 77D, but still D5600 has hybrid AF system and carries 39 AF points only for focusing.

ISO shooting

Canon 77D offers maximum ISO range of 51200, which means the users can get flexibility of shooting in lowlight. However, both cameras incorporates 24MP sensor, but when while shooting at 24 MP, Canon 77D allows you reach upto 51200 and gives you images with minimum noise. On the other hand, Nikon D5600 allows you only 25600 high ISO value (May not be so effective in lowlight shooting).

Shutter speed

Nikon D5600 might be the camera that enables you better working in bright conditions and also gives you the freedom to use the wide aperture since it avails the faster shutter speed of 1/8000 sec. On the other side, Panasonic GH5 offers you to use the highest shutter speed of 1/4000 secs. Moreover, Faster shutter speed also gives you distortion free images.

Continuous shooting speed

When you shoot at 24 MP the Canon 77D allows to use the highest frame rates of 06fps, which is great to capture the action of the fast moving subjects when you shoot at the highest resolution. On the other side, Nikon D5600 is looking a bit down that offers one frame lesser than 77D when allows you shooting at its highest resolution of 24MP resolution.  That’s not cool!

In this case, Nikon is winning the competition by allowing the users to take around 820 shots at a time, whereas Canon 77D is restricted to 600 shots only.

We must recommend you to go with Canon 77D since the camera has Faster AF system (DPAF) as a result super video work will be easily done,  Superior Lowlight performance etc. On the other hand, Nikon D5600 has been a great entry-level camera that features solid specifications at the price.

Canon 77D $799.00
Nikon D5600 $646.95
