Before we begin you should  note that both camera are made for different type of applications. The Nikon D810 is a megapixel mosnter whereas the Canon 6D Mark II camera is entry level FF Camera from Canon. But at the same time the D810 is more than 2 year old whereas the 6D Mk 2 is a new arrival.

Since looking at the the specs of D810 you can say it is completely a professional level camera comes with classic features fabricated with 36 MP Full-Frame sensor etc. On the other hand, Canon 6D Mark II is also elegant, which has excellent stock of specifications like 26.2 MP Full-Frame camera, massive ISO range that sweetly encroaches other DSLR’s area come in its range.

Image quality

Will there be any difference in the image quality between Canon 6D Mark II and Nikon D810? Of course, we will see difference and most of the points indicate that Nikon D810 would produce sharper images than Canon 6D Mark II. But at the same time, we can’t overlook the image quality produces by Canon 6D Mark II since it is brand new and we do expect its image quality would also be superior if not sharper than D810 then at least match that quality because 6D Mark II has more pixels area that increases light gathering ability of the camera so that it can produce even sharp shot with utmost clarity in lowlight.

Additionally, Nikon D810 could get the advantage of having creative 51 AF points so that photographers can choose a variety of focus configurations to suit the shooting situation. On the other side, Canon 6D Mark II comes with 45 AF points  – Six points lesser than Nikon D810, but all are cross-Types. Means Canon 6D Mark II have 45 -All cross types AF points, whereas Nikon D810 has 15 cross Types AF points out of Total 51. Ultimately, Canon 6D Mark II enables precise AF tracking, even during 6.5 fps high speed continuous shooting.


Canon 6D Mark II offers high sensitivity of 102,400 and standard ISO of 40000 that ensures lowlight shooting will be done comfortably means you can get good quality of shots even in lowlight. On the other hand, Nikon D810 ends with 51200 that may not be sufficient for the professional photographers.

Image Stabilization

To give you outstanding quality of Full HD video, 6D Mark II has 5-Axis electronic I. S mechanism that strictly suppresses the camera shakes to give you blur free videos even if you shoot handheld. On the other hand, Nikon D810 doesn’t have image stabilization so you need  to attach the camera with I.S compatible lens to get blur free and crisp images and videos.

6.5 vs 5fps. Of course, Canon 6D Mark II avails 6.5 fps that clearly ensures that even the fast moving action of the subjects will be captured stunningly. On the other hand, Nikon D810 comes with 5fps of continuous drive.


On the rear side of Nikon D810 you have a large 3.2-inch 1,229k-dot display with RGBW alignment that helps you shoot subjects from different angles.

Verdict: Both camera are made for different purpose, BTW, Canon 6D Mark is a excellent package for anyone who want to get hands on FF camera with bunch of features.  Also keep in mind the D810 carry a contrast detect sensor and carry a year old tech inside it waiting to be replaced.
