Image quality

Look at the table, both are using same sized APS-C sensor and resolution at the heart, which clearly means we can’t expect large difference in the image quality. But somewhere, SL2/200D can take the advantage of having latest Digic 7 Image Processing Engine for exceptional image quality and speed in lowlight.

AF system

Since both are Canon products and both have that innovative Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology that boasts the focusing performance of the camera, means it gives you smooth focusing of the subjects and also offers fast autofocus acquisition when shooting still photos in Live View mode and tracking in movies.

But Canon SL2 looks weak with only 9-AF points, whereas Canon 80D 45 AF points all- cross type is now wider both horizontally and vertically lets you compose the subjects which is not in focused. Plus 45 AF points also allow photographers to choose a variety of focus configurations to suit the shooting situation.

Shutter speed

To capture the fast moving subjects Canon 80D offers faster shutter speed of 1/8000 s. On the other hand, Canon 200D avails faster shutter speed of 1/4000 s.

Continuous drive

To capture the actions those happen in split second Canon 80D offers continuous shooting drive of 7fps. On the other hand, Canon 200D or SL1 has only 5fps to offer.

Canon 80D’s battery is super stronger than SL1 that lets you take around 960 shots at a time, whereas Canon SL1 end with 650 shots only.

Canon 80D is great camera to make online videos and the camera more than the entry-level DSLR. On the other hand, Canon SL1 is walk-around camera that easily get fitted in your pocket.
