SensorCanon 1DX Mark II is the world’s first camera comes with Dual-pixel CMOS AF sensor. Canon 1DX Mark II has 20.2MP CMOS sensor supported by advanced Dual DIGIC6 + image processor to produce high resolution images in various situations with high sensitivity with minimal noise and also maintains the better image resolution even in low-light conditions to deliver magnificent image quality, low –light sensitivity while Sony A7S II has a full-frame 12.2MP Exmor CMOS sensor coupled with old BIONZ X image processor.

Canon 1DX Mark II as well as Sony A7S II has similar expandable ISO of 50-409600.

Canon 1DX Mark II captures 20MP images @ 16fps while Sony A7S II captures 12MP images @5fps.


Image Stabilization:-Sony A7SII has a 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization system, which compensates for five types of camera shake during handheld shooting of still images and videos. Such type of system beneficial for those users who want to choose any type of lens even adapted lenses during photography without facing any blur formation due to camera shake.

This system is also beneficial for the new users as they need not to worry about their unwanted hand-shake during capturing images and they can get better result during photography. While Image Stabilization is not present in Canon 1DX Mark II.


AF system:-Canon 1DX Mark II has 61-point with 41-point cross –type while Sony A7SII comes with 169 AF Points, which is comprised of 25 contrast-detection points and nine central AF point.

So, there is no doubt that the more advance AF points of Sony A7S II  grabs more AF area of the screen and locates the real subject more quickly and also it is beneficial for tracking fast and randomly moving subjects and also allows  the users to track the subject more effectively compare to Canon 1DX Mark II.

Continuous shooting speed:-Canon 1DX Mark II has Continuous shooting speed of 16fps while Sony A7SII has slower with 5fps.

The fast shooting speed of Canon 1DX Mark II makes it to perform well with better result during capturing fast action objects and also can track each and every action of the fast moving subjects more instantly compare to Sony A7SII.


Videos:– Both the cameras can record 4K video internally.

Verdict- As per our viewpoints the A7S II is a good camera. Since the camera features terrific AF system as well the IS is so powerful even we can expect a good quality of images also.
