Canon keeps getting work on High-end DSLRs, Mirrorless cameras, even on compact cameras, but why they are not including the Mega zoom camera in those lists? Is Canon secretly taking itself apart from the race of zoom cameras since two years no update to its Flagship zoom camera called Canon SX60 HS means all the rumors that were floating on the web got sunk completely. Meanwhile, different rumor mills have raised some relevant questions regarding Canon SX70 HS arrival, but in the end Canon has partially gulped down those questions without answering to their users. If waiting by their users is fair or should they move to Nikon that offers the highest zoom camera of 83X(Nikon CoolPix P900).
One of the most asked questions by users in 2017 is ” When will Canon release the Megazoom SX60 HS Successor?”. But 2017 is almost end, one more year was skipped by Canon without Megazoom camera and Now the big question before entering to 2018 is “Can we expect Mega Zoom camera from Canon in 2018?” We must ask the photographers those who have been still waiting for the next Megazoom camera should wait until 2018 because to compete with Nikon, Canon may announce the SX60 HS successor in 2018 (Who knows?).
Luckily, Canon SX60 HS with 65X optical zoom still holds the second position in the Megazoom lineup after Nikon P900. Also, Nikon is rumored to announce 125X Optical zoom camera in 2018. So we shouldn’t be wrong in expecting its arrival in 2018.
Additionally, Sony gradually removed itself from the Zoom race. If you remember its last camera was Sony HX400. Don’t know if Canon would also follow Sony’s Path. But interestingly, Nikon P900 has been the stand alone camera that was sold out in big volume. Now Nikon must not ignore (Even intentionally) its successor and that is why we are greatly speculating P900 successor in 2018.
