Image quality

Larger is the sensor, more light will enter onto the sensor, resulting in much sharper and clear images. However camera with more effective pixels allow you get large print of the subject. Well, here Nikon D7500 is the obvious winner for producing tack sharp and crystal clear images since the camera implement large APS-C sensor. On the other hand, Canon 80D does also have APS-C sensor but comparatively smaller than that of Canon 80D. Thankfully, 80D employ maximum number of effective pixels.

Image stabilization

The 3-axis I.S mechanism inside the core of D7500, ensuring you get crisp and blur free Full HD videos and also note that the E-VR is not effctive while recording 4K videos . This 3-axis I.S effectively reduces the uncontrolled camera shakes. On the other hand, if you need a crisp and clear still images then you must purchase lenses that feature optical image stabilizer mechanism inside it while using Canon 80D because the camera doesn’t come with any vibration reduction mechanism.

AF system

Canon 80d utilizes Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast and smooth AF during Live View and movie shooting as well as a dedicated Phase AF sensor inside the camera. This intelligent technology also excels in providing stellar AF and tracking even in difficult shooting conditions. On the other hand, 80D has dedicated Phase AF sensor manages to offers 45 AF points only.

Nikon D7500 uses high-density 51 focus points  to cover a wide area of the frame in DX format, while its 15 cross-type sensors in the center provide higher detection strength.

Overall, Canon 80D offers you faster focusing response compared to Nikon D7500.

ISO

Reaching to the almost clarity and getting low-noise images while shooting at lowlight area is also one big challenge for a photographer, but if the camera he is using offers better sensitivity range then he can get his work done effortlessly and unobtrusively. As you can see that Nikon D7500 is significantly better camera for shooting in lowlight areas that allows you to use the maximum ISO range upto 1.64 M, which is much more. However, its competitor Canon 80D is not looking flawless, offering the expandable ISO range of only upto 51200.

Continuous shooting speed

Once again, the Nikon D7500 is an outstanding choice for sports, wildlife and other fast action that offers 8 fps continuous shooting capacity. On the other hand, Canon 80D is staying back for offering continuous drives of 7fps only.

Video

Nikon D7500 is recommended camera for the photographers who are intended to experience Cinema since it features 3840 x 2160p @30fps  (for 29 minutes). On the other side, Canon 80d allows you to record full HD video only (A huge difference between D7500 and 80D). Plus the great benefit of Nikon D7500 is that it features 3-axis I.S that ultimately helps while recording Full HD (1080p) video. Means this image stabilization mechanism keeps the camera steady and produce very sharp and crisp videos.

Display

Nikon D7500 integrates Large 3.2” 922K dot, tilting LCD screen with touch functionality. By tilting the large 3.2-in touchscreen up or down you can shoot at high or low angles and simply touch where you want focus when using Live View.

Shots

Not a big difference, but Canon 80D allows you take around 960 shots at a time, whereas Nikon D7500 can capture 950  shots only in a single time charge.

Verdict

However, Nikon D7500 costs you a few dollars more but gives you some of the incredible features that you may have been waiting for long time. Canon 80D looks a bit inferior infront of Nikon D7500. But Canon 80D is great camera and do remember we are saying inferior only for this comparison.
