Which camera is going to be better in overall specifications comparison between Panasonic GH5.

Megapixels

Fuji X-T2 has large 24MP APS-C sensor but Panasonic GH5 comes with 20MP Four-third sensor. We know that the bigger APS-C sensor of Fuji X-T2 delivers sharp images due to the fall of large amount of light on its sensor, but at the mean time GH5 carries M4/3 sensors, which is comparatively smaller in size than Fuji XT. Also here the size of the sensor doesn’t much matter. As Panasonic GH5 coupled with 20.3MP Digital Live MOS sensor and a newly developed Venus Engine processor improved the processing speed and also it enables the camera to record 4K video at up to 60 fps, 10-bit 4:2:2 internal recording with select settings, Full HD video at up to 180 fps and makes it superior comparative to Fuji X-T2 which offers internal UHD 4K video as well as an 8-bit 4:2:2 HDMI output.

Fuji X-T2 manages to get high expandable ISO range of 51200 due to the presence of advanced X Processor Pro image processor, which results well-detailed imagery in low light conditions.

The Panasonic GH5 users can capture 20MP files @ 12fps while the Fuji X-T2 users can gain 24MP files @ 8fps.

Low Pass filter

Low pass filter eliminates the problem of moiré by blurring what actually reaches the sensor but we get the image on the sacrifice of its quality so, its absence in Fuji X-T2 makes the camera to capture high resolution images in all types of shooting also it has used Multipixel Luminance Generation and Intelligent Detail Processing, which will maximize sharpness, details along with accuracy in various lighting conditions. On the other side, Panasonic GH5 comes without low pass filter, hence we also expect super sharp images from XT-2 with more dynamic range and improved low-light performance.

Image stabilization

Panasonic GH5 has 5-axis dual image stabilization which helps to gain the confidence of the users by reducing vibration during handshake or other types of exposures at the time of capturing images and the users will get the Blur free images. Also it gives awesome sharpness during handheld photography. Such type of image stabilization system has the ability to reduce 5 stops of camera shake, as desired by the photographers, while it is not present in Fuji X-T2.

AF System

AF system:- Fuji X-T2 comes with both contrast detect and Phase detect 325AF Points which makes it capable of acquiring fast and accurate focus, which is beneficial for capturing fast moving objects. While Panasonic GH5 features 225 phase detection AF points, supported by a newly advanced Depth from Defocus technology that quickly calculates the distance of the subjects and analyze the shape, size, movement and adjusts its focus for capturing within 0.05sec. It is beneficial for both still and video recording modes.

ISO

Panasonic GH5 has expandable ISO of 25600 while Fuji X-T2 has better expandable ISO range of 51200, which is one stop higher than GH5.Hence the higher ISO as well as bit bigger sensor size  of Fuji X-T2 makes it performs well in low-light conditions comparative to GH5.

Hence the users can use the Panasonic GH5, where no much need of light is required such can it can performs well in studios. While Fuji X-T2 performs well in bright conditions.

Continuous shooting speed

Panasonic GH5 has continuous shooting speed of 12fps while Fuji X-T2 has 8fps, which is lower than GH5.Hence the fast continuous speed of GH5 provides it to capture the fast action objects at higher speed. So the fast continous speed of GH5 makes it ideal for working fast moving subjects compare to X-T2.

Video

Panasonic GH5 it offers UHD 4K video as 3840 x 2160p @60fps and also has the ability to record 4:2:2 10-bit files at resolutions up to DCI and UHD 4K at 24/30 fps. While Fuji X-T2 also offer UHD 4K video recording but at 30fps.

Others

Without NFC and more battery life the GH5 also features POST FOCUS mode that allows photographers to shoot first and focus later and the other feature is focus staking that allows more depth in images , unfortunately Fuji XT-2 doesn’t have these modes.

Verdict

The Panasonic GH5 is a ultra advance camera that features state of the art technology inside it. The Panasonic GH5 features advance AF, better Video mode.. .BUT the sensor pixel area of the Fuji is more then GH5 and the ISO sensitivity is one stop more than the GH5. So if you are expecting a better image quality machine with improved low light performance then X-T2 comes first the the row otherwise Panasonic GH5 is a marvelous device for Sports and Video.
