Overheating Test of Sony A6500 vs A6300

If we recall the overheating issues facing by the camera Sony A6300 during 4k recording just after its announcement, than it definitely makes us tense whether the users will face the similar problems with the soon announced Sony A6500 , as they suffer earlier. But the Newsshooter comes with some positive result after testing the Sony a6500 overheating test compare to Sony A6300. The test completed by Mr. Dan Chung and he added that “Sony appear to have fixed the single biggest complaint users have about its predecessor, the a6300“. And the new Sony a6500 solves this overheating issue with a new ‘Auto PWR OFF Temp’ setting – “the a6300 stopped recording and shut down around the 12 and a half minute mark. The a6500 continued to roll and got all the way to the end of the half hour“.

The new a6500 solves this with a new ‘Auto PWR OFF Temp’ setting. When set at ‘High’ it allows the camera to continue recording all the way up to its 29 min 50 second limit. According to Sony reps you can then start to record again immediately for another half hour in normal conditions. If you then start recording again a third time Sony make no promises about how long it will record for.

Hence, such report will definitely improve the reputation of Sony, but it is earlier to comment anything on it. As the flagship APS-C mirrorless camera Sony A6500 has to face and pass more acid tests to make itself a spotless camera without a single issue in coming days. Let’s we hope so!
