Riomaggiore during a storm
Riomaggiore is a village in the province of La Spezia, situated in a small valley in the Liguria region of Italy. It is the first of awesome Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I took this picture during a short thunderstorm, when the dark clouds were full of rain and the sea was very rough.

An oil gland near the base of the tail secretes oil that the flamingo distributes throughout its feathers.
