As we know Canon EOS-1D X Mark II has only Built-in GPS which provides geotag information including auto time syncing with Universal Time Code via satellites but there is absence of WiFi built in the camera due various technical reasons. The main reason which forced the Canon to drop the addition of Wi Fi or NFC inside the previous cameras as well as in Canon EOS-1D X Mark II are the magnesium-alloy body of the camera, which prevents the WiFi antenna to work smoothly.
After the announcement of Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, now a latest patent for GPS & Wifi for camera body revealed via Egami. It’s a good news who were waiting for built-in GPS & Wifi in Canon Pro DSLR including the coming Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. There is expectation that Canon will put GPS and WiFi under the bump on top of the viewfinder of Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
