Sigma and Tamron to announce four new lenses next week

There is lots of expectation that Sigma as well as Tamron will announce a couple of new lenses in coming week just before the CP+ show 2016.

It is expected that Sigma will introduce two of its latest lenses namely Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens and Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens while Tamron will also come with Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di MACRO lens along with Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD lens.

The details of the upcoming lenses:-

Sigma-50-100 1

Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art

  • Lens construction: 21 elements in 15 groups
  • Three FLD, one SLD elements, one high-refractive-index high-dispersion glass, three high refractive index SLD glass
  • Filter size: 82mm
  • Shortest focusing distance: 95cm
  • Maximum magnification: 1: 6.7
  • Total length: 170.7mm
  • Maximum diameter: 93.5mm
  • Weight: 1490g
  • Aperture blades: 9 (circular aperture)
  • New thinned ultrasonic motor
  • Inner focus, inner zoom
  • Suggested retail price in Japan: 167,400 yen (tax included) or around $1,400
  • Available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts

It is expected that it will be suitable for Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts cameras and available at the cost of around $1,400 on 22nd April, 2016.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens

  • Lens design: 9 elements in 7 groups (double-sided aspherical lens high refractive index and high dispersion glass)
  • Aperture blades: 9 (circular aperture)
  • Filter Size: 52mm
  • AF motor: stepping motor
  • Shortest focusing distance: 30cm
  • Inner focus
  • Total length: 73.3mm
  • Maximum diameter: 64.8mm
  • Weight: 265g
  • Available in Sony E and Micro Four Thirds mounts

The users can get the lens at the cost of around $400 on 18th March, 2016 and it will be available for Sony E and Micro Four Thirds mounts.

Two new Tamron lenses

  • Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di MACRO 1: 1 VC USD (Model F017) for Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts (no VC for Sony)
  • Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD for Nikon, Canon and Sony mounts

Since, there are no detailed specifications as well as the availability of both the Tamron lenses. The upcoming 90mm lens will soon become first choice for APSC shooters who seek budget lenses and 85mm f1.8 lens will give an affordable option to get high quality portrait snaps in budget.
