Sensors:- Nikon D5 has large 21MP FX-Format CMOS Sensor while the Nikon D4s has smaller 16MP FX-Format CMOS Sensor. It is using upgraded and advanced EXPEED 5 Image Processor compare to EXPEED 4 Image Processor used in Nikon D4s.

Hence, the FX-format 21MP CMOS sensor of Nikon D5 joins with the EXPEED 5 image processor to produce high resolution images with better color combination in various situations with high sensitivity and fast overall performance while the 16MP FX-Format CMOS Sensor of its predecessor Nikon D4s works with EXPEED 4 processor to deliver magnificent image quality, low –light sensitivity and better color combination.

Nikon D5 has far better ISO of 50-3280000 comparative to 50-409600.

Nikon D5 captures 21 files @ 14fps while Nikon D 4s captures 16 files @ 11fps.

Since Nikon D5 has utilized the advanced EXPEED 5 Image Processor compare to Nikon D 4s, which is based on its conventional EXPEED 4 processor.

The difference in technologies of both the image processor of the cameras will definitely affect the image quality as well as processing speed of the cameras.

ISO:- The Nikon D5 has the native ISO 102400, which can be extended to ISO 3280000 where its predecessor has lower native ISO 25600, Extended to ISO 409600.

So, the extended ISO range of Nikon D5 is 3 stop increases in comparison to its predecessor which is definitely better for the users to capture the magnificent images even in dim light situations with increased dynamic range without any noise production. It also maintains consistent brightness for the users capturing the images in changing light conditions.

Undoubtedly, the higher ISO of Nikon D5 makes it superior photography in challenging light conditions compare to Nikon D4s.

 

Continuous Shooting Speed:- The Nikon D5 has continuous shooting speed of 14fps while Nikon D4s has 11fps. So, Nikon D5 will perform well with better result during capturing fast action objects and also can track each and every action of the fast moving subjects more instantly compare to Nikon D4s.

 

Video:- Undoubtedly Nikon D5 is the first DSLR to offer 4K video recording at 30 fps, while the video quality of the predecessor has low quality of Full HD 1080p. Hence, the professionals will definitely like to enjoy the higher resolutions videos of Nikon D5.
