As we know Canon announced its latest EF 35mm f/1.4 II lens on 27th August, 2015.
Now it is available at all major resellers like B&H Photo, Adorama and Amazon at the cost of $1,799. The company has used a unique optical technology Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics, which corrects the chromatic aberration and results in impressive images.
The EF 35mm f/1.4 II features Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics, an optical technology that allows for very high levels of chromatic aberration correction with a maximum aperture of f/1.4. Such type of technology gives the better experience to the users shooting in low-light situations and for controlling depth of field.
This lens is the combination of two aspherical elements and one Ultra Low Dispersion (UD) element with the BR element to reduce the chromatic aberrations and color fringing for increased clarity and sharpness. The lens also comes with a Subwavelength Coating to reduce ghosting and lens flare, to make the accurate color combination with better contrast.
It is supported by the Ultrasonic autofocus motor (USM), which helps to produce fast and noise-less AF. It’s Prime wide-angle lens is supported by both full-frame Canon EOS DSLRs as well as with APS-C-sized sensors to produce a 56mm equivalent focal length.
The Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics element refracts shorter wavelengths of the visible spectrum (blue light) in order to significantly reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing.
A pair of aspherical elements and one UD element also help to control aberrations and distortions for sharper, clearer image quality. It has Fluorine coatings on both at the back and front surface to reduce the fingerprints and smudging. It produces safety to the lens from dust and moisture.
