When you look at such beautiful images you must have asked a question to yourself, how do they do it?

Well if you are also interested in wildlife and nature photography here is a tutorial for you that give you the basic idea on how to shoot nature.

While heading ahead to shoot wildlife and nature, double check your equipments and accessories. Shooting wildlife can be dangerous so it is important to be careful while shooting. Environment at a forest is not favorable so before heading to it pick the appropriate gears.

Coming to the photography tips:

Shoot RAW: it is recommended to shoot RAW if possible as RAW files are unprocessed and carry much more information in comparison to JPEG. Thus, while processing the RAW image file further the additional information allows more latitude for adjustment.

Stick to the lowest ISO: try to shoot at the lowest practical ISO as higher ISO creates noises in the images and while shooting nature’s beauty no one would like to have noises on their images. Low ISO produces smooth and clear pictures with excellent color detail and image information. But sometimes while shooting wild creature you need to have a higher ISO so in such cases you can increase your camera’s ISO in order to attain a fast shutter speed.

Use AF continuous (AI Servo) mode: shooting a wildlife creature is never easy they make movements and run or fly in several unknown directions so the focus of your camera may not be able to keep them under focused always. So, here comes your camera’s AF continuous (AI Servo) mode to help you, under this mode your camera constantly keeps focusing on the object even if the camera or the object is moving. This mode is available under different cameras with different names, so before heading do read your user manual carefully.

Use tripod: while shooting wildlife keep a tripod with you as it will help you in getting sharp and blur-free shots in dull lightning conditions. Even when shooting at low ISO your camera’s shutter speed will be slow so it’s recommended to use a tripod.
