Canon 70D is a pure DSLR camera from Canon with recently announced 20.2MP APS-C Dual Pixel CMOS AF that provides active Hybrid AF system during still shooting via live view or through optical viewfinder on the other hand the Sony A77 II is a SLT technology based camera that also also features HYBRID AF but due to fixed mirror technology inside the camera looses 20-30% if the incoming light to the sensor (20-30% light goes to AF sensor of the camera below the image sensor)

Megapixel:  The Sony a77II features more resolution compared to Canon EOS 70D, more resolution gives you ability to recompose your images and also to grab out high-quality print-outs.

Bigger Sensor Size:  Sony a77II have bit bigger sensor size compared to Canon EOS 70D, that will not create any noticeable difference practically or theoretically.
